Rain outside my window. Only a smattering of it.
I'm refusing to crank shut the windows, however,
until I get up from my desk. I'm enjoying the
slight, cool breeze on the back of my neck.
It's making the house smell nice, and the sound
of raindrops on dried up leaves makes me quite
happy.
The Engineer has been asking over and over
today if anybody else felt that the day was
"weird". There's been a pervading sense of
strangeness and for once, I can't point my
finger to where it's coming from.
It's not good or bad, it just feels...off.
He just left a little while ago, which is sad
because I have the overwelming urge to rub
his Buddha like head. Heee! Ruubbb the Buddddhhhaa
head!
Two hot caramel apple ciders today, instead
of one. So much goodness. Even the smell of them
makes me smile quite happily. It is every autumn
I've experienced in my lifetime. It is the
very soul of this season. That smell and taste.
Along with those spiced wafer cookies that
only come out this time of year. I have a handful
of them on my Day of the Dead altar.
The Wee One has been caught between a cat war
on my couch. I should break that up.
