GRR

Phone call just now. From the job I really wanted.
The one with the ashtrays.

And they've decided to go with someone else.

Fuck.

Well at least that had the courtesy to call you. Most places don't even bother to send any kind of reply.

"Yes, you're perfect for this position, we'll be back to you inside a week". Like fuck they were!

That sucks... but maybe you can keep them in mind for the future? Because any job that actually gives someone the respect of calling to let them know they didn't get it, is pretty good in my book.

I'd drop them a note thanking them for their time, and asking if they'd keep you in mind should anything open up in the future. Add a sincere "hope everything works out well with the new hire" [make sure it doesn't sound sarcastic.] It will probably make you stand out, in a good way.

*sigh*

I'm sorry. I keep you in my job-related wishes.

i know exactly where they can stick their ashtrays.

that sucks though. this whole process is so hellish. i am so very delighted to be back in the thick of it.

ASSMONKEYS.

I hope you told them well that's funny, because I decided to go with someone else too, bitches.

And then I hope you kicked them in the jimmies right through the goddamn telephone wires.

It actually was decent of them to call to at least extend the courtesy of letting you know they went with someone else, rather then having you sitting and waiting and waiting. I know this probably isn't the right thing to say, because I know you're stressing over money, but with your mom's health, perhaps there's a reason you're not getting a position right now. I know it doesn't help things, and I'm sorry there's nothing I can do.

ashtrays? where did you apply to....the head injury employment center? or the drooling stroke victim's activity center?
