On a whim last night, I bought a new copy of REM's 'Green' on CD. I had previously only had it on cassette, the whereabouts of which are unknown.

Christ. I had totally forgotten how much I loved this band, back when they were still kind of underground good.

REM is my favorite band of all time. I still adore them, even the new stuff! i'm even a member of their fan club...still.

anyway, i appreciate your renewed appreciation for REM! WOOHOO!!!! and that *is* an incredible album. do you have a favorite song? i go back and forth. probably 'world leader pretend' and 'you are the everything' would be my most favorite.

'you are the everything' is my favourite from that album and probably my favourite of theirs, period.

Now I've got all this renewed appreciation, it's giving me the urge to get some of the other albums I don't have anymore.

I haven't listened to REM in a long-ass time, but mmm, Reckoning & Murmur.
I may have to hunt those down in digital format.

I agree with you on the 'you are the everything' factor. Not sure if it's my favorite, but it's definitely up there. Places me very firmly in a certain place & time.

also, was most excellent to talk to you this evening. will plot and plan soon.

Even "Up" is a good album...but my favourite is "Eponymous." I've been bopping around to that a lot while cleaning and doing laundry. RADIO FREE EUROPE!
