Why my boyfriend generally has my personality pegged, reason #135:
The other day at work, he and his co-workers were discussing some sort of monkey-raccoon trap which involves a box. Inside the box is something shiny. The monkey or raccoon (take your pick) puts their paw into the box to get the shiny, but can't pull it out because the something shiny is too big to fit through the paw-hole. They don't think to drop the shiny something and are thusly trapped.
The Engineer's comment upon hearing about this?
Hmm. That would most likely work on my girlfriend.
His co-workers were a bit confused by this statement, thinking that he was being a bit mean. And further explanation didn't help matters any, after he told them that it was because I have a fondness for shiny objects.
I, however, thought it was fucking HILARIOUS.
