So, I finally contacted a snake breeder about looking into getting a new ball python.
Charlie's tank has sat empty for so long and I get so morose whenever I look at; this is not fun. I decided it was finally time.
I found a breeder who is not all that far away, but this one still requires shipping. I'm ok with that. I'd been sharking his website for quite some time (he's had some very pretty piebalds in the past that I dream of owning) and the last time I did, he had some really nice looking females (regular, run of the mill ball pythons, not any sort of fancy morph) listed that had been hatched in October. I shot him an email inquiring about one of them and then waited.
He got back to me today. Unfortunately, he no longer has any regular females, but he is willing to sell me a male pastel morph for the same price. Pastels are spiffy, without being prohibitively expensive, but I really wanted a girl snake. They generally are bigger, as compared to boy snakes, and I'd like something with a bit of a presence when it reaches adulthood.
But. It's a pastel. For the same price as a regular.
hrrm.
The Engineer keeps telling me to hold out for a female, but I've got itchy fingers and grabby hands. I really want my own slithery friend and I don't want to a. wait until this breeder either hatches one or acquires one and b. resort to going to a petstore (not EVER again).
Decisions!
And in the event of getting a male, I have to scrap the name I'd already picked out for a girl: Sylvia, because that just won't do. We kicked around a couple already.

Fell out with Take That.
I suspect because they all resented the fact that he's actually quite talented.
But.
