Rats are actually really friendly, especially when they've
been socialised to people interaction. It always makes me
sad when I go to the pet store and see the ones in cages.
I want to take them all home!

I know how you feel -even though I have never considered one as a pet before, I find myself feeling so sorry for them at pet stores -there was a really sweet pair of grey ones that I saw last week -their fur was this lovely blue/grey and they were very docile and loving and if I didn't have three cats I would have taken them home -but you must still be a caring person if they trust you so much and if they are so enamoured with your company. I still might get one someday -who knows -my cats are such sissies they would probably run away!!!
