Big chunk of money later and the diagnosis is that Edgar ate one of his stuffed animals (or part of his bed) and it was lodged in his stomach. The doctor removed something which "looks rather suspiciously like a big piece of fleece" from my weasel boy.

Now, apparently everything is moving along smoothly and hopefully he'll be home tomorrow with a shaved tummy, stitches, and a great piece of resentment for Mommy because she held him down when the tech stuck a thermometer in his ass.

I stayed up almost the whole night with him, forcing fluids in and cleaning up the mess when they came back out again. When I finally couldn't stay awake any longer, I brought him into my room with me and curled into bed around him. In the very wee hours of the morning, I awoke to him licking my face. It was strange to see him that subdued, really.
