I can make you want a grape
Jun. 26th, 2002 02:38 amThey took some of the staples out of my mother too soon. I called this one last night while changing her bandages and finding what would appear to be black cherry jell-o stuck in her navel.
No, I didn't scoop it out.
Which is good, because after a visit to the doctor today, it would appear to be a bit of innard sticking out. Like a...hernia or somesuch. He said it's normal enough, to just keep it clean with peroxide. And to not poke it.
Looking at it later this evening, I've decided it looks more like a red grape. My mother doesn't like this observations very much. Nor does she like it I declare "her innards are coming out!" whenever someone asks me how she's doing. heh
We have a appointment with the surgeon on Thursday afternoon, during which I shall berate them for taking out her staples too early. The smackdown shall be mighty.
Today was really the first day of me playing at nursemaid. It didn't go so badly, I reckon. It was alot of "help me up, please?" and "can I have some juice?" and such-like. Not too bad.
I also managed to have my unemployment benefit woes cleared up this morning, much to my delight. Not only did I straighten out the not being assigned a date to call in this week, but I also fixed the only-being-paid-for-one-week-when-I-should-be-getting-two problem. Hooray! More money for me.
Tomorrow, I get to drive around and pick up her disability paperwork at the office. Ick.
