Aug. 22nd, 2002 03:39 amFive dolls down. Unknown number of dolls left (two definite, but I could make more if time is on my side). The newest one is named Celeste. I just finished her about half an hour ago, much to the relief of my straining eyes and pricked fingers. Looking over at her now, I would have to say she looks like a bit too much like Wednesday Addams for my liking.
My mother is quite impressed with the clothing that I've been making for these dolls (and, I must admit, so am I. I never thought I had this sort of talent in me). The dress which I made for Selene is extremely beautiful. And I would /love/ to have one for myself. If only I could figure out how to transfer patterns to a much larger size.
If I decide to make this a full time thing, I'm going to wind up like one of those little old women who make lace and are blind by age 60.
A moment ago, I decided to check the availability of URLs for potentially setting up an online business for this, using the name I choose: MementoMori.
www.mementomori.com AND www.mementomori.net are both taken By the same person, I might add. Who also happens to have a very unfinished and very bland page. With bad graphics. That look as if they've been stolen from a video game of some sort.
They get the angry face from me: >:O
A trip to AC Moore (arts and crafts store) for foam board made me spend more money on things which I probably shouldn't have gotten, but can justify by saying that they're for the dolls. I even had the idea of making a little mask on a stick for one of them. But, didn't have the cash to pick up the supplies, inexpensive as they would have been. Maybe tomorrow, when writing a check wouldn't be as hazardous (because my unemployment hasn't shown up yet).
The Engineer made me a little sign, at my request, to hang on the table that Thee Pumpkin Girl, Heb and Jinx, and Dani will be sitting at. It's just a wee little thing, probably not even 8 x 10. But, it'll be enough to show that my stuff is not their stuff and vice versa.
Tomorrow sends me on a road trip to Delaware. Sadly, it will be a solo mission because I don't think anyone would be able to go with me. This will mark the first occasion on which I do this completely alone.
eeek.
