ow. my. eyes.
Mar. 12th, 2004 04:46 amI was offered a freelance type of job by a friend of mine to proof read a copy of the white pages (yes, as in the telephone directory) on a project he'd been hired for. Ten dollars an hour, work from home kind of deal. He gives me the pages and I go through them, line by line, and pick out mistakes (of which there are many).
I, in my infinite wisdom, accepted.
It's day four/five and my eyes are BURNING. Tiny black type, numbers and letters all blurring into each other. What makes it extra special fun is that the program he used to scan in pages of an existing directory swapped some letters and numbers. Like inserting S instead of 5, along those lines.
After five or so hours of doing this, I'M swapping numbers and letters and it makes SO MUCH MORE FUN.
I've been at this all week and I'm only on the end part of the B section. 25 pages or so. Go me.
In much happier news, I have a job interview tomorrow at AN EXTRA SPECIAL PLACE WHICH IS A SECRET FOR NOW.
Hrrm. There's a lot of all capital letters typing in this entry.
I must be feeling shouty again.
