Sep. 18th, 2004 01:30 amThere are too many goddamn live shows coming up in October/November; it is driving me insane.
October 11th, the Cramps are playing at the Trocodero. They are in my top three of favourite bands.
Also, in a shitty little kick to my back, PJ Harvey is playing October 11th, at the Electric Factory. She is also in my top three (if you do not know who the first is in my top three, then you need to take a course in Remedial Tara 101).
Diamanda Galas is coming to the TLA, but the-best-ex-husband-in-the-world bought me a ticket for my birthday. So, that's covered.
Ministry is coming (although if I could be guaranteed they wouldn't play anything from the last two albums, I would be there). So is KMFDM (same applies).
Lewis Black, my absolute favourite comedian, is playing the Tower Theatre. ON MY BIRTHDAY.
Cake (the band, not for my birthday, although I do want one and it damn well better be bat-shaped and purple) will be coming at some point, though I'm not sure when. They're on the lower end of my radar, though. There were some more bands also scheduled, but again, low end of my radar and therefore not as important to me.
However.
HOWEVER!
I received news this evening that motherfuckinggoodgoddamn LAIBACH will be playing at the TLA on November 5th (5th? I forget). Laibach, who may not be in my top three, is on my list of Bands I Must See Before I Am Allowed To Die (tm). Wemble told me tonight, when we were hanging out with the Engineer and the Unibomber V 2.0 (I first spelled that as Unobomber, which is amusing me to no end). Unibomber and I did double takes at each other when she told us.
Laibach? You mean the same Laibach that put out an entire CD of only 'Sympathy for the Devil' covers?
You mean the same Laibach who covered 'Jesus Christ Superstar?
The very same LIFE IS LIFE Laibach?
I am quivering with glee.
The Unibomber V 2.0 is going to procure tickets for us tomorrow.
Still, I quiver with glee.
I may not be the world's most incredibly happy person right now, due to circumstances of extreme shittitude, but this is enough to make me smile. And to give me something I can look forward to, no matter how inane it may seem.
