Sep. 1st, 2005 01:18 amLight rain on the way home from work, so I put both car windows all the way down and laughed like a loon oh look, norman, it's the loons as I walked through the grocery store parking lot, hopping from puddle to puddle. Parking as far away from the entrance as possible, this gained me a lot of puddles to jump in. Joyous splashing for no reason other then it pleased me to do so.
Walking through the store, looking like a half-drowned cat, I felt the dire mood I'd been carrying around all day slowly start to lift from my shoulders. I hummed a lot and bought cream cheese, ignoring the stares from the other patrons as I made my shoes squeak as loud as possible on the freshly waxed floor.
Singing now, Nina Simone almost at the top of my lungs, as I pushed my trolley back to the far-flung parking space I'd left my car in, an old man leaning on a cane shook his head and grinned at me.
You're half out of your mind, girl.
