Very irritated with my place of employment, at the moment.

Yesterday, there was an impromptu meeting in the breakroom while some of us were finishing up lunch. The Doctor came into the room, got the rest of the admin staff to gather, then notified us that effective right that minute, we were no longer allowed to work any over-time. The company is in a severe financial crisis and to avoid having to lay anyone off, we couldn't do over-time anymore.

Ok, I understand this perfectly. I'd rather have a paycheck (that cashes!), then an unemployment check. But, here's where I get to the part that I'm pissed off about: I was promised fifty hours a week when I started this job; it was the reason why my salary was so low. Furthermore, two years ago, our over-time had been capped at fifty. No one was allowed to work over fifty hours without prior authorization from the CFO. And I've complying with that this entire time.

Apparently, I was one of the only ones. Because the whole other side of the building, with the exception of two or three people, have been racking in the hours. And I can guarantee that it's not all work work work going on over there, either. Particularly with our web developer guy.

Additionally, it was announced that special exceptions may be made if one is working on a special project. And I just know that that web developer is going to go toddling into the Doctor's office and beg for his four thousand hours of over-time. Which puts us right back at fucking square one.

If I lose my job because of these numb fucks, I'm going to blow up the moon.
