...not drunk?
Jan. 2nd, 2009 12:45 amWell. Not anymore, at any rate. Last night, however, was a completely different story.
After a lot of wembling over the weather, driving, and general malaise, it was decided the Engineer and I would go over to Philadelphia for a low-key NYE party which doubled as a birthday party for Miss Ella.
I:
* met the sweetest cat I've ever seen, other than my own Baby. His name is Butterball and he chews on his gums like a little old man. I loved him so much. He is my new boyfriend.
* saw some people I have not seen in a very long time. One of them was last seen about fifteen years ago. Others, about a year. It was good.
* did not see some people I had been expecting to see. hrmph.
* got very drunk on a bottle of Rosa Regale. It was suggested I just drink it straight from the bottle, but I do have a small amount of class. Sometimes.
* was gifted with the creepiest nun statue ever. She's been named Sister Mary Immaculata of the Perpetual Growing Things. It has also been suggested that the only way for Stacey to get me to go to her place is to give me things. The last time I was there, she gave me the best Hello Kitty pillow in the world. I still have it and it's still awesome. Sister Mary Immaculata now sits on my computer desk, where she can judge Middle Brother when he's looking at bad porn.
* finally received a small bit of closure on something I've been upset over since January. It was nice to be recognized; thank you.
* ate far too much party food. However, it made up for the fact I'd only eaten a small salad the entire rest of the day (I'd been at work and unable to really get anything to eat). It helped soak up all the wine I ingested and saved me from being sloppy drunk, as opposed to the happy and laughing drunk I actually was.
* was sung to by Tony Smash. If you must know, it was the Smiths. And I laughed so hard, I thought I was going to pee. Or vomit. Or pee and vomit. At the same time.
* made eggs Benedict for the Engineer this afternoon.
* finally cooked the glorious steaks I'd bought from Whole Foods last week. And they were glorious, indeed. I was even feeling generous enough to share them with the Amazing Larry (who brought me explosives) and the Engineer.
* completely trounced the Engineer in a game of Othello. It was a slightly hollow victory, as he'd been drinking beers.
* very badly missed people I was unable to see this weekend.
* don't want to go to work tomorrow.
