The snake breeder, Ron, just emailed me:

Hi Tara,

We have a cold front passing through both PA and NJ. The high for you tomorrow is 33F with a low of 21F. Thursday shows a high of 27F and a low of 21F. I guarantee live arrival but cannot guarantee live arrival if the temperatures are below freezing (32F). The best day to ship would be Monday because the high is 50F with a low of 43F, well above freezing (see http://www.weather.com/outlook/travel/businesstraveler/tenday/08106?from=36hr_fcst10DayLink_business).

I can still ship tomorrow if you'd like but I cannot guarantee live arrival and will not be liable if he should perish as a result of extreme cold weather conditions. The heat pack states that they're not effective below freezing so I can't guarantee live arrival if the heat pack states that it does not work below freezing.

Please let me know if it's okay to push the ship date to Monday. Thanks for your understanding Tara.

So, I have a bunch of disappointed pouty-face going on right now, but obviously I am going to go for the shipping being put off until Monday. As I said in my reply email to Ron: "I'd much rather wait a bit longer and have the snake arrive safely, then get all grabby hands about it and potentially have a dead critter in a box on my doorstep Thursday morning. :/"

On the brightside, this will give me a few more days to acquire a light box set-up.
