The're headlining Coachella, I think.
I hope they play New York City (and that I can actually get a ticket.)

I have received it already from someone interested in catparties.

However, I will say that I am totally blaming you for my knowledge of this. I had no clue it was even coming out until I saw your post this morning. :D

Cool!

Like I said, I think the first half of the album is only so-so, but the second half is really good.

Enjoy.

I saw them in 1994 or so at the Hammerstein Ballroom. They were actually pretty amazing. Not a lot to look at on stage, but the performance was stellar -- it was incredible to watch them do all the scratching and sampling live. Plus, any band with a theremin is cool in my book.

One of my great regrets is missing them when they played Orlando on the tour after the Roseland CD.

I really don't want to have to miss them this time.

A music blog I sometimes look at has a rapidshare download link for the album, if anyone here is interested: http://hefiorels-eclectic-music.blogspot.com/2008/03/portishead-third-2008.html
