your house is on fire
Jan. 17th, 2002 12:05 amI found a ladybug at my office today. A live one, inside
the building.
It caught my eye as it crawled along the windowsill
directly in front of my desk. At first, I thought it
was clinging to the outside of the window, but
upon further inspection...it turned out to be inside.
I gently picked it up and cradled it in my hands,
showing it to everyone who was within range. "Look!"
I would cry. "A ladybug!"
No one was very impressed. Which was disappointing. I
mean, a ladybug. Inside. In the middle of January.
I think that's rather impressive.
I suppose these brain dead, muddy dolts have no
concept of amazement.
I christened the bug "Arabella" and let it go
on my desk, to wander around the papers and files.
She stuck around for a little bit, climbing atop my
phone and cleaning her legs one by one. But, after
awhile, I lost track of her.
