thejunipertreeIt amuses me how consistently people choose to spin themselves into the perfect image. As when a bad situation happens, a person will deliberately paint themselves into the best possible light as to come out of it smelling quite like a rose.
Generally, only people of low character will do such a thing. However, I've been unhappily surprised by those who I always considered to be of a different and better pattern.
It is an instinct borne of survival. "This person doesn't know what really went on, so I will tell them the story from a twisted perspective. Then they will think I am the grand cheese."
What also amuses me is the utter obtuseness of individuals. The old adage usually applies, though: if it walks like a duck, etc. Only the blind ignorant don't see what is laid out before them. Especially when the blind ignorant's peers are laying it out for them in pretty colour by numbers and easy to read formation.
On another note, I don't think I like this peppermint hot chocolate very much.
