Friday: I took my mother to her oncologist's appointment, so they could do more bloodwork and go through all the consent forms. They also went through each of the nasty possible side effects which chemo can bring.

Man. That is some scary shit, let me tell you. It goes so far beyond hair loss and being sick. There's the drying out of your nails, toes and fingers, to the point where they can separate from the nail beds. There's rampant poo. Exhaustion. Depletion of red blood cells, white blood cells, and/or platelets. Red areas developing on the palms of your hands and/or soles of your feet (this one, if it shows up, the doctor must be called immediately).

The time schedule is going to be two weeks on, one week off. Once a week, which will be Friday for us. For the next seven to eight months. Roughly approximating three to four hours an appointment.

eeek. eeek.

I won't get into the fears, introspection, and worries that all of this brought on. Not at the moment. It's too much to comrehend, at this time.

Later Friday night, the Engineer and I went to Exhumed for a double feature of Dagon and From the Beyond. Dagon ruled. From the Beyond was...hmmm. Not of the ruling type. Though mutant pineal glands were shown.

I also ran into [livejournal.com profile] kevinperson, not to mention a few other people that I know. The game of "Spot the Horror Movie Geek" was played between the Engineer and I. We even spotted a Styx t-shirt, which caused a verse of "Mister Roboto" to be sung, by yours truly.

Pointy boobs, mullets, an odd man bumming a cigarette from me in exchange for Kevin knocking his soda over (his name was also Kevin, strangely enough), and the Engineer's rocking co-worker Jason laughing like a loon. Three thirty in the morning found me half passing out in my comfy chair, but knowing the second I went to bed, I wouldn't be able to sleep.

Yay. Insomnia.

Saturday: Figured out that one of the cats sleeping on my face isn't exactly conducive to happy dreaming. Removal of the cat ensued. As did not getting out of bed until almost two in the afternoon. heh.

A friend of mine, Samaisha, left her ex husband (long story) on Friday, so she's now staying at her brother's house a couple of towns over from me. As I haven't seen her very much as of late, I drove to pick her up so she could accompany the Engineer and I on my Saturday afternoon errands (which used to be my mother's Saturday afternoon errands, but well. yeah).

I saw three of the most beautiful and perfect bunnies which have ever walked upon the face of this earth. One was greyish, with black circles around its eyes. The other was /tiny/ and white. And the third was the most amazing black velvet colour, with lop ears.

Squeaking came from my lips, the likes of which has never been heard before. I'm so bitter that I couldn't hold them, as I'm terribly allergic. Damn you, bunny allergy. DAMN YOU TO HELL!

Lightening criss crossed the sky all afternoon, but a storm never showed its face. Birds, however, were enemy for the majority of the day. It began with a damn seagull flying just ahead of my car, while I was driving on the highway. Flying in the same direction I was heading, I must add. I had visions of bird ass smeared across my windshield. Luckily, that didn't come to pass.

Starlings and sparrows, though, decided that landing in front of my car whilst I was driving it was a fabulously good idea. At one point, I even had to /honk/ to make them go away.

Now I sit, with a cherry Coke (with real cherries!), listening to the sound of my heart thumping quietly and kicking myself for not doing more sewing lately.

A boring entry, yes.
