Date: 2002-08-27 01:40 pm (UTC)$36 each, except for Scratch who's $20. Emily also went for $20, but she was the lone doll I sold at Horrorfind.

Date: 2002-08-28 09:55 am (UTC)Also, I hear that you know how to strip bones. I have a woodchuck head that I found in the woods, and it's still got some fur and flesh on it, and smells kinda bad, and I don't know what the best way to strip it is. Do you have any advice on the best way to do it?

Yes, you can buy her. She's $36. If you like, I'll make the Pixie only entry with my address a Muridae/Pixie only entry. :D

Heh. Word gets around. ;)
There are a couple of ways you could do this.
One way is to just boil the hell out of it, so that the fur and flesh fall
off the bone. You could also get a box of dirt and bury it in there for a while, but that takes a long time. Burying it in quicklime (available at Home Depot, I would reckon) would be a bit quicker. Though I would recommend using gloves if you do the lime.
If you have a particularly strong stomach, you could skin the head before you try boiling it. That will cut down a bit on the time it takes to get it to the bone. If you do boil it, I would also suggest burying it in something for a while. The boiling process isn't going to take quite /everything/ off the skull and burying it will help it along.

The head doesn't really have that much flesh left on it, so I will just try boiling it for a while. Really there are just patches of fur still stuck to it, but some bugs did most of the hard work for me already. I think there's probably still some brain left in there, or something...
So I will try the boiling! That won't make the bones look any different, will it? (Change the color, or make tooth openings bigger/smaller, or change the integrity of the skull, etc.)
Thanks for the advice!
