I accidentially sent an email with "pixie" in the name, since I only change to the "real name" when I am sending resumes, and default back to "pixie" because I really don't want anyone else knowing any other name of mine. That probably just confused people.

Don't apologize for being yourself. If they ask, just tell 'em what it is. Don't make a bid deal about it, and they probably won't either. OTOH, if they do make a Big Deal before or while asking about it, that will give you a good idea on how receptive they'd be of you in your everyday guise. I hope things work in your favor, whether you get this particular job or not.
