You know, I probably wouldn't sleep so late if my bedroom weren't a motherfucking CLOSET with no windows.

I've had this problem before, sleep schedule getting eff'ed up because I'm in a room with no natural lighting. One of my old bedrooms, at Punk Rock Plaza as a matter of fact, was in the basement. The Place Where There Was No Light (tm) as we used to call it. And my sleep schedule got all wacky because of it. At one point, I got up and thought it was 5pm when it was actually 5am. Freaked out because I thought I was late for work (I had to be in at 3pm). Freaked out because everything was so quiet. Freaked out because everyone in the house was asleep.

I was also semi-concious, so that kind of explains why I believed Philadelphia had been hit with some evil Sleep-O ray by a maniacally laughing madman.

So now, I've had this closet bedroom for two and a half years. My sleep patterns are screwed up beyond all possible belief to the point where on the occasions I DO sleep somewhere that has natural lighting, I still do my best impersonation of a coma victim.

This is most unsatisfactory.

I would also like to know who rang my doorbell at 10am. Not that it woke me up. But, our doorbell is actually our phone. We live in a secured building and you must be buzzed in to gain entry. When someone rings our doorbell, it actually rings our phone. And I saw the doorbell number on the caller ID. At first I thought that it was the Wee Ninja, who said she would be stopping by today. But, she almost always calls me before she stops by (to make sure I'm concious). And there were no other calls listed.

ok, this is probably not very feasible and/or expensive...but i'll say it anyway. i wonder if there's some way to get a light rigged up to a timer? like, a natural type of sun lamp or something like that...i would think this problem you have wouldn't be rare, so there'd have to be something you could do. however, i am betting on it being some kinda fancy thing marketed by some place like sharper image, who sells it for $98415704987.

so i guess i've trashed my own idea. i will post it anyway, so you know i had what i thought might be a brilliant solution. i'll keep thinking on it.

Perhaps she could attach a natural light lamp to a Clapper, and have a really loud alarm go off at a certain time, which could possibly set it off.

NECESSITY IS THE HOBAG OF INVENTION.
