When one wishes to communicate that they are hestitating over something because of being unsure of it or afraid of it, the word that one uses is 'leary'. Not 'weary'.

Also, while I'm on the subject. When an animal is flighty and shy and startles at small sounds, it is 'SKITTISH' not 'SKIDDISH'.

I think the word they were after is wary which does in fact mean hesitant or on guard.
