Aristotle has been eating so well for me, it's really kind of baffling and difficult to get used to. He's just like clockwork: every seven days I do the dead mousie dance and he om nom noms it right up. I so wish Charlie had been like this because she was such a great snake otherwise; I really miss my girl.

Watching him eat is freaky because he's still so wee and I'm a paranoid snake-mommy, so I'm constantly worried that the prey is too big and he's going to split like that burmese python in Florida that ate a gator and exploded and omg. But, the Engineer (and everyone else on the planet) assures me that he's perfectly capable of handling the prey I'm giving to him and could maybe even go a tiny bit larger.

Last night, I had him out for some us time. We chilled on the couch together, me reading a book and him attempting to get down my shirt every five seconds. I could make a joke about it being just like high school, but I'll refrain.

I'd love to eventually get more snakes, but it's not going to happen any time soon, I reckon. I'd love a red-tail boa and a western hognose of my own. And maybe a leucistic black rat snake, even though I read they're a bit on the nippy side. My holy grail of snakes would be a piebald ball python, which is definitely not going to happen in the foreseeable future because of the prohibitive cost. I still dream, though. And come up with names for all the snakes I will own one day.
