Saturday was a small, but semi-official, celebration of my birthday (which is actually on Tuesday). We had decided to go out on Saturday because having birthdays in the middle of the week does suck verily. So, Miss Robin, Saint Rick, Auntie Rowan, Ellis, the Amazing Larry, the Engineer and I headed out to the Thai resteraunt Miss R took me to last year. Merriment and the best soup in the world was had. The Engineer gave me the anniversary edition/director's cut/whatever it is of the original Dawn of the Dead, some bat ornaments, the lastest book in the Series of Unfortunate Events series and one of those rain shower shower-head thingies. Auntie Ro and Ellis gave me a fifty dollar gift certificate to Jersey Devil tattooing/piercing. TAL gave me an amazing plush Alien face hugger (eeeee!). Miss R and Saint R gave me a fifty dollar gift certificate to MAC, a Dr. Gonzo t-shirt (fist in the air for weird fuckers!), a leather bat hair clip with spikes, a box of bat cookies which I did not share with anyone and this Halloween bat...thing. It must be seen to be believed, really. It's a little bat on a big plastic tree. And when you press the button, it spins around the tree branch, opening its wings and singing, "You spin me right round" (that song from the eighties by Dead or Alive). I'm going to take it to work with me, to decorate my office. I only wonder how long it's going to take to get a request that I bring it back home. heh.
I have decided that since my last paycheck didn't even clear forty hours for two weeks, that I am going to just cash it and get tattooed. I haven't gotten any ink for almost three years and it's beginning to make me a bit cross. Not quite sure what to get, just yet, but I am contemplating calling Mister Dubin and telling him to finish my goddamn Scary Godmother sleeve. If I decide to nix that and just start a new piece, I'm going to take that gift certificate that Rowan and Ellis gave me and add that to the total. I could do some serious damage with that amount of money. Maybe even get the lemur tattoos on the backs of my legs, which I've been planning. But, I'm still unsure.
