If you step in a puddle once, I'll most likely chalk it up to ignorance and feel some sympathy for you. After all, your pants get all muddy and you're now forced to walk around all day with wet shoes. That's never any fun.

If you step in the puddle again, full well knowing the puddle is there and of your own free will, then you're a fucking moron. I will point and laugh, especially when you dare to bemoan your lot in life.

I say that to people all the time.

I knew this chick who slept with one of my friends, and right after, he basically ignored her and treated her like shit. I said, "it sucks, he shouldn't do that," and told him he was pretty wrong in the whole thing, but you know... it happens. I truly felt bad for her. But then, every time she did it AFTER that, and the same thing happened, I ceased to feel bad for her. She throws herself at a guy, who's drunk, even though she knows he doesn't like her, and then gets upset when he ignores her, even though that is all he has ever done to her. First time? His fault. Every other time? Her fault.

I can't feel bad for people who keep throwing themselves into shitty situations, head-first, and seem shocked by the predictible results.
