After linking you to that site, I poked around and I have now mastered the art of straight-lacing after many years of being completely inept at it. And, I must say, my new boots are FAR more comfortable than they were earlier.
For serious. They're going to be so much easier to break in now, I think.

And yes, I balk somewhat at the prospect of getting new Docs mostly because I remember my 9th grade experience of being constantly blistered on the backs of my heels from the (then)stiff leather on the Docs (I have the 14-eyes). I hope lacing relieves that somewhat.
However, do you know (o lady of random linkage) where I can procure some 8 or 10-eye GREEN Docs? It's been an obsession to find them ever since I saw them eons ago. It seems like such a early-to-mid Nineties relic that I don't know if they'd be readily available. (There are so many of these things that I have stayed up scouring the ends of the earth trying to find)
