This entry is post-dated, so it will always show up as my first entry. If you are reading my journal directly, rather then through a friends list, you'll need to scroll down past this entry to see if I've written anything new. I read that Glassner book, and a couple by Bourdain but not Cook's Tour. My book list is linked on my profile and updated regularly too.

Cook's Tour is really just an awesome book.

I've gotten so fangirly over Bourdain and it's really inexplicable. I think it's all the cigarettes he smokes and how much of a prick he can be. It's quite seductive. ;D

hey lady,

Things are all crazy for this weekend... I have no idea on times, still, or where we're staying, or if we're staying Sunday night or not... but it does still look like we're coming down Saturday. We will have a car, but I suspect once we park it, we may want to leave it, since it's hard to park there -- would you guys be up for meeting up in Philadelphia somewhere?

I am SO great at planning! I'm having a panic attack just trying to sort everything. Do you happen to know if there are any hotels close by to where the Electric Factory is? Or ones that we could cab to/from because the last thing I need is Matt drinking and driving in a city that tends to target out of state plates [at least from what I have heard].... I'm sure I will figure it out... but if you're free Saturday, I'd love to do something.

Unfortunately, it would be difficult for us to come to the city this weekend. Money is incredibly tight this week and neither of us can really afford a night out, that's why I had suggested coming over here for dinner because it's something we can do without putting out any cash. :/

I'm really not sure what's close to the Electric Factory because everything has changed so much since I lived in the city. I know there's a ton of hotels in Center City that you could probably Priceline.com for a room in one of them.

As long as you get a room in Center City, you'll be able to take a cab to Electric Factory. It's not far at all.

If you can get to the city, dinner/drinks are on me....
I think we are leaving about 3pm tomorrow. That could go ANY way, in terms of traffic. Yahoo maps says 2 hours, 9 mins. I have NEVER made it there in that time. And if there's traffic, we could be fucked.

I'll call you. I'm so torn... I want to see you and Chris badly, I also want to show Matt the best city in the world [so I can convince him to move there]... heeheh.

<3 I'll call you when we get in... sound okay?

Just be mindful of the shore traffic. That can really tie you up.

I'll be at work for most of the day, so call my cell phone. I'll be alone in the office, so don't worry about calling me when I'm at work.
