Jun. 25th, 2007 10:57 amBetween Charlie getting mites, the Engineer coming home Friday night covered in fairy bukkake, me accidentially throwing out (and recovering!) my favorite pair of pajama pants and bra, grocery shopping on Sunday, and making enchiladas for dinner, I am exhausted.
I fell asleep on the couch directly after dinner on Sunday while watching Dirty Jobs. Two and a half hours later, wide awake and completely bored out of my skull. I couldn't fall back asleep, once I went to bed, and slept in this bizarre kind of dream-state that did absolutely nothing but bring me very bizarre dreams of Cillian Murphy being a crazed sociopath who wanted to psychologically torture me in various and sundry ways(for the record: PHWOAR!).
Now, I'm at work and semi-bleary. I've got vanilla flavored black tea with cream and sugar. And a piece of chocolate silk cake from my favorite bakery. The tea is good, as it always is. The cake is inexplicably warm, which means it's going to sit on the corner of my desk all day and I'm going to glare at it a lot.
hrmph.
Rassum frassum.

Date: 2007-06-25 03:31 pm (UTC)He went to a solstice ritual on Friday night that apparently was over-the-top-and-made-of-awesome. He got glitter-bombed twice. When he walked into my apartment later that night, I told him he looked like he motor-boated a stripper. hee.
It was everywhere. And still is! I keep seeing it glinting in his chinbeard and on his head and in his eyelashes. That stuff is like the herpes of the arts and crafts scene, I swear.

Date: 2007-06-25 04:23 pm (UTC)That's why I stopped with glitter. I once went to some sort of costume party, and made fairy wings out of wire, lace, and then glued micro glitter over every bit of the lace patterns. They took FOREVER.
They lasted about an hour at the club-party, and my house was glitter-soaked for months. Never again.
Also, would one Miss Tara like to share enchilada recipes?

Date: 2007-06-25 06:05 pm (UTC)It's pretty easy.
One lb. of ground beef
1 large onion
2 cups of shredded cheese
2 small cans of enchilada sauce
pack of tortillas
butter
olive oil
1. preheat oven to 400 degrees
2. melt butter in saucepan over medium to medium-high heat with a good splash of olive oil
3. Dice the onions into notbig/not small pieces, put into saucepan once butter has begun to melt and foam up
4. add onions to pan, cook until desired level of carmelization has occured
5. brown ground beef in large frying pan
6. add onions to beef when the onions are done
7. add 3/4 cup of enchilada sauce and 1 cup of shredded cheese to beef/onion mixture, stir well
8. pour tiny amount of enchilada sauce to bottom of large baking dish, smoosh around (this is to prevent the tortillas from sticking when they bake)
9. stuff middle of tortilla with enchilada meat, usually about two of three tablespoons worth is good for each enchilada
10. roll tortilla (you can also fold the ends down like a burrito, if the tortillas are too big for the baking dish, I had to do that last night)
11. repeat until tortillas and enchilada mix is used up (I generally get about six tortillas filled)
12. pour the rest of the enchilada sauce over the rolled tortillas, sprinkle remaining cheese over top
13. bake for 20 minutes, until cheese is good and bubbly
I used to do this with chicken breast, instead of ground beef, but it was a complete pain in the ass because I would shred the cooked chicken and that took forever to do, so I started using beef. We generally top the enchiladas with sour cream, a wee bit of salsa, and sliced black olives. Refried beans and cheese on the side.
hooray!
