I don't want anyone to think that my last episode of Tara-acts-like-a-whiny-twat was in any way directed towards any of my friends who were not timely with the birthday wishes.

The entire entry was directed at my father; there were no passive aggressive undertones to it for those in my life who did not make with the birthdaying. I can't stand it when people pull that PA shit and the only time I actively do it is when I tell the cat that the Engineer is acting like an a-hole, in front of the Engineer. It's a game we play. I know we're kind of ridiculous. ;)

That being said, thank you. Everybody.

I think one of the steps I need to take in accepting the fact that my blood-family is truly fucked up beyond all repair and that there's simply nothing I can do to change it (and that I need to stop pissing and moaning about it) is to drive home the realization that I have a very large chosen family who are made of some pretty awesome awesome.

Hope you had a good day, notwithstanding the paternal episode. You will find a timely greeting in my journal.

Fully understand the angst, as my darling brother-in-law couldn't be bothered to wish my kid a happy 21st birthday two years ago. Needless to say, I haven't bothered to speak to him since!

needless to say?

If my mom stopped talking to my dad's brother because he didn't say happy birthday to me I would think she was a psychopath.
