Am I the only person on this planet who thought Tin Man on the Sci-Fi Channel was a giant, steaming pile of poorly written and ham-handedly acted garbage?

I love me some Sci-Fi original stuff (Mansquito? Kaw?!), but this was just wretched. For reals, yo.

Being that it appeared to be everything I hoped and dreamed of, before first viewing that is, I'm incredibly disappointed. I mean, come on. Wizard of Oz retelling with Alan Cumming in it? Where do I sign up, right?

Wrong. So, so wrong.

I kinda wanted to watch it, but the original time it aired was my finals week from hell, so that didn't happen. 6 hours is also a big commitment when you have television ADD.

I had plans to check it out, but my dad beat me to the punch. After the first episode he called me and said it wasn't all that great. He's fairly understated so I took that to mean "don't bother".

And I liked it, of course. It was okay. But it was neither a retelling or "reimagined" as they billed it. It took place years and years and YEARS into the future in relation to the Wizard of Oz (I LOATHE the old 1939 piece of crap movie...Return to Oz with a young Fairuza Balk was WAY better). I'm not sure why they marketed it the way they did.
