A perfect example of how much of a doofus I can be sometimes:

I'm standing in the ladies room at work, staring in the mirror. And there's something wrong about my face that I can't quite puzzle out. So, I'm standing there staring at myself. Something's wrong. Something's...different. What the fuck is it?

Suddenly, it hits me.

I forgot to put eyeliner on this morning.

Oh silly girl, you say! That's not such a big thing. However, I wear eyeliner every single day. It is as familiar to me as my own skin. I am also a creature of extreme habit. When I do my makeup in the morning, it very ritualised and always in the same order. I never deviate from this pattern.

So, I somehow phased out of reality for a short while and completely forgot that step.

To make matters worse, it makes me look like I'm about twelve years old.

*sigh*
