thejunipertreeIt would appear that the aforementioned eBay seller is an idiot.
I called my bank, who gave me the name of the bank my check was sent to. After speaking to two separate people there, I deduced that this girl deposited my check and either (a.) did it as cash or (b.) wrote a check against the balance before the check cleared.
(a.) is a normal enough thing to do. For a paycheck, though. Not for a personal check from a total stranger. (b.) is just a damn stupid and boneheaded thing to do.
They also told me that they charge $7 flat fee for bounced checks. And that they can not come between the account holder and I with our dispute over this. The lady I spoke to says that even though it was my check that bounced, I can't really be held responsible for what was or was not in the seller's account and how she handles her money.
As soon as I'm done writing this, I'm going on eBay's webpage and scouting around for advice. I'm also going to contact a small claims lawyer and ask them what they think.
Ever see me flame somebody on LJ or a newsgroup and how I just won't give up until the other party shuts their fucking mouth?
I'm a hundred times worse then that in person.

I do not suffer fools gladly. Especially the ones who try to take me for a sucker.
