rabbit ran in front of my car this evening, as I was leaving for Borders. It skittered in my headlights for about 15 seconds, as I slammed on the brakes with visions of past bunnyguts dancing in my head. "Go, Bunny! Go!" I shouted out the window at it.

It got away.

*whew!*

I'm so terrified of hitting another animal while driving. So very, very terrified of it. I KNOW it would be accidential and I KNOW it wouldn't really be my fault. But, I just can't handle the idea that I inflicted that much pain on such a small and innocent creature.

Especially the bunnies.
