thejunipertreeNot quite as plaguey, but I am heavily doped up on Day-Quil right now. AND at work, which is a slight improvement on yesterday. However, I don't think I'll be venturing to the hospital to visit my mom as it's probably not the best of ideas to expose her to my plague germs.
Two days off from work was enough for me. I truly can't stand being cooped up in the house, especially when my car is sitting outside. Taunting me. Flaunting its mobility.
I did, however, get a bit of knitting done. A weekend trip to AC Moore gave me a bit of the yarn bug back. They've gotten in a ton of new yarns, and nice ones to boot! All of this made me decide to make my OWN scarf. One for ME.
Yes, I have done this before.
No, I never finished it.
I worked on this new scarf for the past two days, here and there. But, I'm beginning tobelieve admit that knitting is just not for me. I don't have the patience for such a slow result. It's a rather nice meditative practice, but I can't comprehend doing it for hours and hours. I am unable to quiet myself for that amount of time to be truly successful at it. I have the same exact problem with meditation.
Furthermore, I simply itch to read while doing it (which is the same problem I have with sewing, though I'm much more successful at sewing then knitting- I'm actually quite snazzy at sewing). Which is just purely impossible for someone with zero coordination, like myself. I would also need a small Guatamalen boy to hold up whatever book I was reading and turn the pages. He could also bring me a diet Coke whenever I wished.
I do enjoy buying new yarns and knitting paraphernalia. Tactile. One of the new skeins I bought is heavenly. I want to take a thousand of them, make a bed, and roll around in it for a few hours.
At any rate, I'm being bid to smoke.
My co-workers are such a bad influence on me. ;)
