(no subject)

've been in the mood lately to dye my hair red, like a deep cherry red (worksafe, of course). The urge to change is almost overwelming as I haven't done anything to my hair in quite a long time.

Of course, it will have to be bleached first, to remove as much of the black as humanly possible.

Any suggestions?

The problem is, taking myself to a salon...they're going to tell me that it can't be done without cutting off the majority of my length. Salon people, around here, are notoriously dull witted.

I've bleached out black in my hair before, when it was much longer
than this. And dyed it a Special Effects blood red. That came out decent, though it took me ages to do it. I didn't lose all that much length that time, either. The good part is I haven't dyed it in ages, so it's very faded and I've got a nice little crop of new growth coming in. Less dye to bleach out.

I know I'll definitely dye it back to black in a few months, specifically for Kathy's wedding (red hair, blue dress? umm...no.)

I'm just itching for change.
I dunno. :(

yeah, but you live 20m out of philly, and surely there are decent salons out there.. perhaps even salons that cater to deh freakeh?

Not to my knowledge.
And all the good salons in the city would make me sign over my soul and take out a mortgage by the time they were done with me.

They do.
I just hate the colour combination of red and blue.
Especially when I have such pale skin.
