've been in the mood lately to dye my hair red, like a deep cherry red (worksafe, of course). The urge to change is almost overwelming as I haven't done anything to my hair in quite a long time.

Of course, it will have to be bleached first, to remove as much of the black as humanly possible.

Any suggestions?

your hair is really long and really black (dur! did you know that? huhuhuh). my only suggestion is to take that fat paycheck of yours and go to a quality salon. that isn't anything i could tell you to attempt on your own, in good conscience.


i've actually been thinking the same thing, but i know i'd just dye it back later so i'm saving myself the hassle, money, and most important of all, damage and loss of length.

garnier nutrisse (NOT Lumia) in... crap crap crap, i just dyed my hair with this *yesterday* -- it's the darkest reddish, i think they call it "dark burgundy" but it's NOT, it's chocolate cherry. and it covers dark hair -- I put it over neon violet and it covered no problem. I swear by this dye. At the moment, I'm making it more red with some SFX cherry bomb, but on its own, you get a natural looking dark red that is quite nice.

the woman on the box is ugly and has a sheep nose, if you're looking for it. (her hair is also straight and about shoulder length) I wish I could remember the specific colour!

Wait until after the wedding. Then do a color change. For now buy one of those Walgreen/19.99/hair crimper/string wrapper/hair curler/hair magic items and just play with texture for kicks.
