've been in the mood lately to dye my hair red, like a deep cherry red (worksafe, of course). The urge to change is almost overwelming as I haven't done anything to my hair in quite a long time.

Of course, it will have to be bleached first, to remove as much of the black as humanly possible.

Any suggestions?

Wait until after the wedding. Then do a color change. For now buy one of those Walgreen/19.99/hair crimper/string wrapper/hair curler/hair magic items and just play with texture for kicks.

April isn't *that* far away. If you wanted to be really devious couldn't you pull out sections, bleach them out, and then dye them a funky color? If you did it right with your hair twisted up they could never see them at work. You're just stuck until April wearing it up all the time.

I'm not sure how long your hair is, and if it's worth the trouble of pulling the color out of the whole thing only to have to go back again in April. What about a sort of there type color? Like putting a fire engine red Special Effects on top of what you have since it will only show up in good lighting etc?


Wait I know. I got it. Why didn't I think of this? Leave your hair alone. You need ink or a piercing. That solves all cravings.

My hair's about bottom of bra strap length and coloured with Feria's Starry Night (blue-black). I'm not sure if SFX would show up on top of that, but I could always try it.
