I've been putting a lot of thought into this, which is why you haven't received a definitive answer as of yet.

I've gone through the barrage of emotional cripples, to the point where I've now basically become one of them. However, when I did it I was looking for safety.

well yes, there is no doubt about that. In fact, I'd say I may have watched too much in my misbegotten youth (taking great liberties with the definition of misbegotten) but I have seen nary an episode in far too long.
